Kim Yu-sin killed his own horse to flex on his mom and it actually worked

So Kim Yu-sin had been visiting a gisaeng (courtesan) and his mom told him to stop. He agreed. But one night his horse, out of habit, carried him right to the gisaeng's house while he was half-asleep. He woke up, realized what happened, and IMMEDIATELY drew his sword and beheaded the horse right there. In front of everyone. The gisaeng was so horrified she never saw him again. His mom was satisfied. The man literally killed his own ride to prove a point. Absolute psycho behavior but ngl it's kind of iconic. He went on to unify the Three Kingdoms so I guess the discipline worked out.
