Jeong Mong-ju refused to switch sides even when they literally told him they'd kill him
Yi Bang-won (Taejong) invited Jeong Mong-ju to a banquet and straight up told him through a poem: "what about living a different way?" which was code for "join us or die." Jeong Mong-ju responded with his own poem saying his loyalty would remain even if he died a hundred times. So they killed him on Seonjukgyo bridge. His blood stain supposedly never washed away. The bridge still exists in Kaesong. This man chose death over betrayal and became the symbol of Korean loyalty for 600 years. Absolute unit.
